The Roofer’s No.1 VCL is a high-performance, cold-applied vapour control layer designed to prevent the passage of moisture vapour into the roofing system. Manufactured from a self-adhesive bituminous compound, reinforced with composite aluminium foil and glass-fibre mat, it delivers outstanding tear and puncture resistance while maintaining flexibility for easy installation.
The polyester-coated upper surface provides a secure bonding surface for most polyurethane liquid waterproofing systems and adhesives. Its exceptionally high vapour resistance makes it suitable for buildings with high humidity and demanding internal environments such as swimming pools, sports halls, kitchens, and wet industrial areas.
Installation is quick and flame-free, with no need for hot works — ideal for projects requiring safe and efficient application on substrates such as concrete, plywood/OSB, and metal decking. When used on profiled metal decks, the integral strength of the membrane resists foot traffic and mechanical stress.
